10 WWE Feuds Doomed From The Start
2. Triple H Vs. Scott Steiner
According to WWE (and pretty much no-one else), Triple H versus Scott Steiner was the dream feud wrestling fans on both sides of the Monday Night Wars had been waiting years to see.
And yet, when the duo did finally lock horns in early 2003, all parties dropped the ball in truly comical fashion, culminating with two of the most lacklustre, disappointing matches of all time at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out.
Problems began long before they actually got physical though. Like many ex-WCW stars, Steiner received only a halfhearted push following his debut. It felt like he was only a secondary consideration for The Game, behind establishing his burgeoning Evolution stable at the top of the company.
Added to this was the poor timing. Since HHH had just regained the World Heavyweight Championship from Shawn Michaels at Armageddon, there was virtually no chance that he was going to drop it to Big Poppa Pomp. Everyone knew he was heading to 'Mania with the gold around his waist, and any interim feuds felt like just that.
