10 WWE Feuds That Must Happen In 2017

9. Dean Ambrose Vs. James Ellsworth

Something has to give with Ambrose and Ellsworth. Now that news has gotten out that the world's favorite jobber has signed a full-time deal with WWE, he’ll have to transition away from his current storyline role eventually. He can’t just be a pseudo-sidekick for Ambrose forever. Maybe the best thing to do is split them up the old fashioned way.

While kids seem to like Ambrose as a babyface, adult fans largely feel let down by him. Perhaps a turn to the dark side is what he needs to get to that next level. He showed a lot of promise during his work with The Shield as a heel, but it’s been quite awhile since he’s truly been a part of something entertaining.

Ambrose turning on Ellsworth would be a hell of a way for him to capture some big heel heat. Ellsworth is pretty universally loved at the moment, and fans have gotten behind his journey from a lowly jobber to featured performer. Turning on him would make Dean the ultimate a**hole in wrestling, and create even more sympathy for WWE’s newest signee. Ellsworth wouldn’t have to win the feud, or even a single match, as he would get a rub from showing any form of credibility. If they’re going to keep him around for the long haul, they’re going to have to give him some eventually.

This seems like the better route to take than WWE turning Ellsworth and having him either join up with A.J. Styles, or forming his own Job Squad-like faction. There’s a lot they can do with the character, and hopefully creative doesn’t screw it up, otherwise he may not be long for the company.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
