A blockbuster programme that dominated the summer of 2008, Edge and The Undertaker developed incredible chemistry in a feud that would finally confirm Edge's place amongst the headliners in WWE.

Closing Wrestlemania with a dramatic World Title Match, the two scrapped again over the Championship at Backlash and Judgment Day, before contesting a sensational TLC match at One Night Stand.

Out of his comfort zone, The Undertaker capped off a white-hot weapons brawl by taking an incredible bump through four tables from a ladder, allowing Edge to grasp the title and banish The Undertaker from Smackdown and supposedly out of his life forever.

It being WWE, forever was 2 months, as Undertaker would dispatch the Rated-R Superstar once and for all at Summerslam inside Hell in a Cell.

Ignoring the comical post-match which saw Edge chokeslammed through the ring into a pit of fire, the match brought the thrilling rivalry to a close still before audiences had tired of the pairing.

A mix of intense in-ring drama and compelling soap in the build-up, the angle was a perfect contemporary WWE storyline and elevated Edge to a level he'd never stumble down from in the company's upper echelon.
