10 WWE Feuds We Didn’t Know We Needed (Until We Got Them)
3. Daniel Bryan Vs. (And With) Kane
As far as oddball tag teams go, few in modern memory are as beloved as Team Hell No. Kane and Daniel Bryan were just absolute opposites who worked, a once-in-a-century pairing that made no sense but simultaneously made all the sense in the world. The corporate-machine built demon, capable of shooting flames out of ringposts. The indie darling, the pro wrestler's pro wrestler. Not only did Team Hell No work, but the duo was also a roaring success for a good while.
It all started with the remnants of a summertime three-way, a tired hangover from a feud that included two tremendous competitors and someone who really didn't need to be there. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Kane feuded over the WWE Championship (and AJ Lee) in the summer of 2012 before Punk turned heel and reignited his feud with John Cena. Left with little to do, Kane and Bryan were kept together for what felt like a placeholder and nothing more.
The two had a decent match at SummerSlam but the best was yet to come, in the form of anger management segments and Scorpio Sky cameos. It started as a throwaway feud that felt like a waste of Daniel Bryan, but it eventually led to a popular tag team and the most beloved babyface of the modern era.
