10 WWE Firsts We'll See In 2017

7. A Host Of First-Time Champions

And on that same subject we will certainly see some first-time champions in WWE in 2017. 2016 gave us first main roster championship wins for Sasha Banks, Finn Bálor, Bray Wyatt, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Rich Swann, TJ Perkins, Kalisto, and AJ Styles. Who will follow in their footsteps next year?

Unless The Brian Kendrick or TJ Perkins dethrone Rich Swann, whomever follows The Outlandish (eurgh) in holding the purple belt is going to be a first-time champion. Saying that, the Cruiserweight Championship might not last the year, but there will more than likely be title changes before the belt is no more.

Big Cass and Enzo Amore, Gallows & Anderson, American Alpha, and The Revival will continue to make the main roster tag divisions interesting, and it’ll be a shock if 2017 ends without one of the four picking up their first main roster titles. Bayley may well taste women’s gold in the next 12 months.

2017 will see the childhood dream come true for some.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
