10 WWE Gimmicks That Seriously Took The Piss

3. Mabel

The monster from Men On A Mission was given a stupid name and a stupid gimmick, but it wasn't just the company that took the piss out of him as a result.

Apocrypha states that when decked out in their predominantly purple attire, the pair (but especially Mabel) would get pelters backstage for looking like former children's television icon Barney The Dinosaur, with the wrestlers gathering to sing the show's theme at the poor f*cks.

Vince McMahon's vision of rap, M.O.M were doomed from the beginning, but the Chairman was always enthusiastic when he had a giant to book. This should have gotten Mabel out of bother in the end, but a heel turn and King Of The Ring push in 1995 only made matters worse.

His failure to appear on the level of the stars when placed there and rotten timing injuring both WWE Champion Diesel and company cornerstone The Undertaker within weeks marked his cards. Probably in neon f*cking purple.
