10 WWE Greats Who Made TERRIBLE First Impressions

8. Edge

Edge Debut
WWE

Pictured above is the face of a man who knows he f*cked up and might be about to incur the wrath of an angry locker room out for blood. During his televised in-ring debut on the 22 June 1998 episode of Raw, Edge accidentally knocked José Estrada out cold during a dive spot.

His face told all. Estrada was unable to continue due to a pinched nerve in his neck, the referee stopped the match and Edge visibly wanted the ring to swallow him up as "celebrated" inside it. On a 1-10 scale of disastrous debuts, this was near the latter - the Canadian must have been bracing himself for quite the talking to.

It was an awful first impression.

There's a happy ending to this story, obviously. Edge went on to become a megastar, retired amidst his own neck woes in 2011 and then launched one of the most unlikely comebacks earlier this year. All's well that ends well.
