If you haven't had the pleasure, then do yourself a favour and check out Batista's underrated WWE 24 special on the Network. The man is remarkably humble throughout, and even opens up to discuss mental health issues that plagued him towards the start of his pro wrestling career.

Basically, big Dave was one shy lad. He still is.

Those insecurities worked against him early on in WWE. Batista was viewed as an arrogant, jacked-up bodybuilder sort who thought he was too good to mingle with those wrasslin' goons. What did the roster base this on? Nothing more than the fact Dave couldn't bring himself to do the rounds and shake everyone's hand.

He was too nervous to. When Batista did pluck up some courage and started to socialise more, he was still hesitant and barely smiled when saying hello. That, again, made most within WWE think he couldn't be bothered to meet them.
