Shawn Michaels was sure that Vince McMahon would love his stand-out student Bryan Danielson. That's why HBK helped set up a meeting between the future World Champ and the WWE boss in 2000. It did not go very well; Bryan wrote about the super-awkward exchange in his autobiography, and it was cringeworthy stuff.

Firstly, Dan had to buy a suit before meeting Vince. He didn't own one, but he knew that McMahon was big on presentation. Second, Bryan replied, "I'm OK" when the single most powerful man in wrestling asked his prospective new hire to extol his in-ring skills.

"Just OK?", Vince sneered.

The plain-looking, fairly short and polite Bryan didn't jive with McMahon's alpha male outlook at all. Later, Dan admitted that Vince quizzed Shawn about why he was so high on his trainee. He just didn't see anything in him.
