10 WWE Heels Who Were Actually Babyfaces In Disguise
7. Sid Justice
The alignments were all over the place during Sid Justice’s feud with Hulk Hogan in 1992, and it began at the Royal Rumble. Sid went on a rampage after entering at 29, eliminating Roddy Piper, Rick Martel, and Sgt. Slaughter on his own, and dumping The Warlord with Hogan’s help.
All seemed to be going well until the match boiled down to the final three, and Sid threw Hogan out. A bitter, sore loser, Hogan threw the ultimate strop, and bickered with Sid - who’d done nothing wrong - from outside the ring. He grabbed Sid’s arm to restrain him, allowing Ric Flair to sneak-up from behind and take both the Rumble and the WWE Championship.
Hogan effectively screwed Sid out of the title, yet Sid was supposed to be the villain. The fans were really growing sick of Hogan’s All-American persona at the time too, but WWE successfully edited the cheers Hogan’s elimination drew out of the broadcast.
As the last man eliminated from the Rumble, it seemed like Sid would justifiably be named as the first man to face Flair for the title. President Jack Tunney chose Hogan instead, however, and while that match would never materialise, Sid was right to feel aggrieved. Everything he did from thereon was entirely justified, making his heel status entirely questionable.
