10 WWE Hell In A Cell Dream Matches
3. Steve Austin Vs. The Rock
When it comes to eras of wrestling, there is usually one man who stands above as the biggest star of that generation, your Sammartinos, Hogans and Cenas. In the late nineties, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was this man, but as WWF entered the new millennium, The Rock quickly caught up to Austin and for many he still represents the biggest star in wrestling from this time period.
Their rivalry goes all the way back to when The Rock was Rocky Maivia and the pair feuded over the coveted Intercontinental Championship, and they went on to have a trilogy of matches at WrestleMania that raised the bar every time they clashed. Eventually, The Rock moved onto Hollywood and Austin retired early due to injury, but they each left behind a legacy that is unmatched in the industry.
Outside of a steel cage match on an episode of Raw in 2001 which ended in a draw, the two never met one-on-one in any sort of gimmick match. The Rock v Stone Cold is a rivalry so well known that it barely needs any set up to head into Hell in a Cell, everyone knows their names, their history and what they can do when they face off in a ring.
