10 WWE House Show Matches We Can't Believe Weren't Televised
8. Bret Hart Vs. Ric Flair - 1992
The WWF of 1992 was in a bit of quandary post-SummerSlam. With the controversy of steroid allegations looming as a recurring theme of the year, Vince McMahon's original plans to put the belt on Ultimate Warrior were nixed in favour of a new direction - a "New Generation", if you will.
The eventual choice of heir apparent to the throne was Bret Hart. Taking over the Hogan mantle as face of the company, Hart's victory over 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair in the autumn of '92 was a big deal. The bout served as the genesis for the WWF's transition into the younger, more athletic talent of the '90s, while it also marked Bret's very first WWF Championship win.
Despite taking place at a show designated as a Superstars taping, the match itself wasn't broadcast on TV or PPV at the time. Instead, the bout was recorded as a Coliseum Home Video exclusive, later released on the Smack 'Em Whack 'Em VHS. Today, the bout has yet to make its way onto the WWE Network, but it is available on the Top 50 WWE Superstars DVD.
