10 WWE Joke Pushes That Stopped Being Funny

7. Titus O'Neil Vs Darren Young

Those poor souls that had stuck with Titus O'Neil and Darren Young throughout their troubled NXT tenures during the original incarnation of the show had already had their fill of the pair feuding and teaming together as the loosely successful Prime Time Players, but WWE's retelling of the sh*tty story was far worse for the elevated platform it occurred on.

Needlessly split in 2014 after two years together on the main roster, Titus' turgid heel turn on Young was met with the same abject apathy their Elimination Chamber pay-per-view match was just weeks removed from the supposedly devastating betrayal.

Parting ways to do nothing of note, they reunited in 2015 but quietly disbanded for good after O'Neil's bizarre early-2016 suspension for roughhousing Vince McMahon as Daniel Bryan's farewell Raw went off the air. After the split gifted Young one final run alongside Bob Backlund, the pair feuded again following Titus' return.

Either somebody desperately wanted to watch these two work together, or nobody else in the company wanted to wrestle them. Those were the only explanation for these repeated revisits to such a lame rivalry. Only Young's 2017 WWE departure at long last guaranteed a permanent separation.
