Drew McIntyre is a well-deserving Slammy winner for the Superstar of the Year award for his efforts across 2020, and a large portion of his success has been down to the excellent work he's done between the ropes this year. While the WrestleMania win over Brock Lesnar might well have made this list for the pop at the final bell, Drew has actually had far better encounters over the past nine months.

Before getting involved with Randy Orton and Roman Reigns, McIntyre had a brief feud with the newly-heel Seth Rollins, freshly into his Monday Night Messiah schtick. The two put on an absolute classic in front of zero fans; it was the kind of match that built from a slow start to a tremendous crescendo, and they pulled it off with only silence in response.

The champ was kicking out of power moves by Rollins at one, with force, deep into the match. WWE set their marker down early with Drew in how they were booking him; if you put a guy as over as McIntyre in with a world-class worker like Rollins, you have to know that a live crowd would eat it up.
