10 WWE Lockdown Era Matches That Deserved A Live Crowd

Leading into a pretty hype-less SummerSlam, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville played the leads in the most engaging storyline on WWE TV at that point. Sonya's excellent heel work and the authentic chemistry between Mandy and Otis (plus the unfortunate real-life events that led to the match becoming a Loser Leaves WWE stip) gave this blowoff encounter the kind of atmosphere that WWE rarely gets right.

Nestled right in the middle of the show, with no fewer than six championship matches surrounding them, Rose and Deville gave us more compelling emotion and a fitting - sadly rushed - conclusion to a great feud that had brought out the best in both of them. Mandy certainly hasn't had the same passion in her work since.

It was the perfect example of the wrestling soap opera story - right down to the symbolic gear. Such a shame that Sonya has had to take some time away from wrestling; hopefully, for everyone considered, this chapter of her story will be done with soon and she can return to a rabid reception in a packed arena.
