10 WWE Main Event Feuds That Didn't End At WrestleMania

3. Batista Vs John Cena

As the final feud of Batista's original WWE run, his battles against John Cena cutely played off of their parallel rises through the organisation with Dave's jealousy over 'The Champ's positioning within the hierarchy coming to the forefront following his late-2009 heel turn.

Scrapping over the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 26, the two had only faced off in a major match once before, and the dual babyface setting at Summerslam 2008 didn't best accentuate the positives of either man.

After 'The Animal' cruelly stole the title at February 2010's Elimination Chamber, Cena was dead set on revenge, whilst a similarly vengeful Batista saw his hollow victory as vindication for being overlooked for years in favour of the 'Leader of the Cenation'.

Their match at the 'Show of Shows' was a surprise hit, outperforming the Edge/Chris Jericho World Title match it shared billing with, and lead to further meetings between the pair to mark Dave's farewell from the organisation.

Losing Last Man Standing and I Quit matches to Cena at Extreme Rules and Over The Limit respectively, Batista's three pay-per-view losses mirrored those he'd dished out to Triple H five years earlier, and left him gamely defeated on his way out.
