10 WWE Main Event Feuds That Didn't End At WrestleMania

2. Batista Vs The Undertaker

A maiden meeting between two behemoths triggered one of the most underrated rivalries in company history as the WrestleMania 23 World Title match between Batista and The Undertaker sat buried in the middle of the card and placed large chips on both men's even broader shoulders.

With something to prove, the giants lit up 2007's 'Showcase of the Immortals', completely reinventing Undertaker's WrestleMania aura and revealing to Batista to be the rounded main event monster he always looked capable of becoming.

Though Undertaker won their first battle and preserved his WrestleMania streak on the night, 'The Animal' looked every bit his equal, and certain rematches beckoned.

Their chemistry was spellbinding, and lead to several equally sensational rematches, with singles contests at Backlash, Cyber Sunday and Survivor Series all continually thrashing expectations, leading the two into a Triple Threat with Edge at December's Armageddon, spend a good portion of 2008's Royal Rumble together, and outlast all others in the February 2008 Elimination Chamber to bookend the brawl.

Though now unlikely to ever make a return, should Batista ever take an interest in a final swing through WWE, one last clash with 'The Deadman' would be a nostalgic callback to their superlative collection of contests.
