10 WWE Matches Everyone Asked For (Which Ended Up Sucking)

In another example of too little, too late, the sight of Bret "The Hitman" Hart finally getting his hands on the man who single-handedly screwed him on his way out of WWE way back in 1997 should've been enough to fire up just about every passionate Hart Family supporter on the planet. Yet, by the time it came to pass at WrestleMania XXVI, all the bells and whistles in the world couldn't paper over the fact that this one was way past its sell-by date.

With Hart himself being told that he wasn't allowed to take any bumps or real damage, or risk being sued by Lloyd’s of London, WWE were forced to think on their feet both in the lead-up and during this hotly anticipated No Hold Barred grudge match. And while witnessing Bret and the rest of The Hart Family beat the p*ss out of their tormentor at The Show of Shows was enjoyable enough, the overall quality of the match didn't ever rise above serviceable at best.

The contest, in isolation, royally sucked when held up against Bret's otherwise stellar in-ring work. But this was designed to be a cathartic beatdown and served its purpose in that regard.
