10 WWE Matches Fans Couldn’t Give A Sh*t About After Watching A Classic

WWE have made a conscious effort to remove mentions of Chris Benoit from their expansive Network archive, but fans couldn't forget his efforts five years earlier after the breathtaking finale to a SmackDown Tag Team Title tournament.

'The Crippler' and fellow wrestling machine Kurt Angle defeated Edge and Rey Mysterio in a slick and scintillating battle intentionally crafted to promote the new Championships as the most sought-after in the company. The four had already begun assembling a heap of hidden gems alongside Los Guerrero under the blue brand stewardship of Paul Heyman and would continue in the same vein after this pay-per-view.

Slotted in after that thriller and before a bloodthirsty Hell In A Cell clash between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, Trish Stratus and Victoria were forced to provide window dressing for fan toilet breaks; intentionally placed on the card to provide breathing room between matches that really mattered back when the act was all too common on pay-per-views. The pair deserved better too, and would ironically prove their worth in a minor Survivor Series classic the following month that, for one night at least, outperformed the 'SmackDown Six'.
