'Macho King' Randy Savage vs. Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VII is one of the very best matches in the history of WWE's annual Showcase of the Immortals. For sheer emotional storytelling, very few professional wrestling contests can get anywhere even close to matching that retirement match.

Skipping ahead to SummerSlam '92, and these two icons would again be doing battle - this time with Savage's WWF Championship on the line.

Anticipation was high, the Wembley Stadium location offered something utterly unique, and the looming presence of the nefarious duo of Ric Flair and Mr Perfect added a sense of intrigue to this match-up. Unfortunately, the bout would go far, far too long - especially for a Warrior match - and would go to the well one too many times on the mystery over which of Savage and Warrior had the secret backing of Flair and Perfect.

Of course, Flair and Perfect would be out for themselves and would leave both competitors lying. That in itself was fine, but it took 28 long minutes to get to the anticlimactic finish of the Warrior picking up a countout win.

A long Ultimate Warrior match was a rarity, and with good reason. The fact that Savage got a stunning match out of the Parts Unknown native at WrestleMania VII was the stuff of legend. To expect the Macho Man to be able to repeat that trick once again was simply asking too much of even somebody as great as Randy Savage.
