Just over a week away from Christmas wasn't anything close to a holiday gift for Bayley at NXT Takeover: London last December. Instead, waiting in the wings was the six-foot cousin of The Rock, Nia Jax, who was and is arguably today, the most-bulldozing, physical force in the women's ranks, period. And for much of this match, Nia looked to be just that, ruthlessly dominating Bayley, the then-newly crowned NXT Women's champ.

But just as it looked like Nia might pummel her way to snatching the developmental division's title, Bayley capitalized off her challenger's mistake, cinching her in a guillotine choke and making her bigger opponent tap out.

The bout followed Bayley's classic matches against Sasha Banks, adding to her meteoric rise, which continues today. Meanwhile it put the rest of the ladies backstage on notice that Nia Jax would be a real force to be reckoned with someday.
