10 WWE Matches That Prove This Is The Best Era In Women's Wrestling

8. Asuka Vs. Emma - TakeOver: London

The same NXT card at SSE Arena in London last December pitted Asuka against Emma with Dana Brooke in her corner.

The latter seemingly pulled every underhanded trick possible to give Emma an edge. At one point in the match, Brooke tossed a foreign object in the ring for Emma to use, but Asuka alertly wrestled it from her hands.

As classic babyface-heel tilts go, the groggy referee came to just in time to catch Asuka with the object, as the soaring women's Superstar had to plead her case as to why the weapon wasn't hers. That carved out just the window of opportunity needed for Emma to attempt a roll-up pin and nearly record the pinfall.

But thinking fast, Asuka was able to reverse the move into the Asuka Lock — essentially a crossface chicken wing which would make Bob Backlund proud — to get the submission win. A thriller for sure.
