10 WWE Matches That Were Too Epic To Fail (Yet Somehow Still Did)

Touted as a 'dream match' come to life, WWE Champion AJ Styles Vs men's Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura on the Grandest Stage of Them All was shaping up to be the greatest rematch in modern history.

The pair put on an absolute clinic in the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom 10 two years earlier and now they'd finally have the chance to bring their titanic rivalry to WrestleMania 34 inside of the Superdome in New Orleans.

Yet, despite much of their programme being built around who was the better performer in the ring, when it came to the match itself we didn't really get to see either man let rip like we knew they could.

Instead we got a serviceable world title match which was overshadowed by a shock Nakamura heel turn post Styles' successful defence.

Styles Vs Nakamura for the first time on a WWE stage should have been a larger than life spectacle and reminded us just what calibre of talent the company possessed in their ranks. But, once 'Mania 34 was firmly in the rear view mirror, it became yet another missed opportunity to deliver a match that could have been truly immortalised at the Show of Shows.
