Only one former WCW star had managed to stay away from Vince McMahon's company for the duration of their legendary career and 'The Icon' Sting seemed like he was more than happy to go down in history as a WCW/TNA legend.

That was until he showed up at Survivor Series 2014 and attacked 'The Authority's Triple H, kick starting both his WWE career and a feud with the 'King of King's all in one night.

Without missing a beat, McMahon quickly booked this as the WCW Vs WWE war fans had wanted to see over a decade ago and you couldn't help but get caught up in the idea.

We were going to see two of the biggest stars from both legendary company's face-off at WrestleMania, with Sting making his WWE singles debut at the Show of Shows.

However, once it finally got to the match itself fans very quickly realised that we weren't going to get Triple H and Sting from the good ol' days. Instead, we were put through your typical bells and whistles veteran 'Mania match, with DX and the nWo both popping up to add to the 'drama'.

To top things off, Sting lost his WWE debut and shook hands with his conqueror after their greatest hits concert had drawn to a close, reducing a dream match to nothing more than one last WWE slap to the face of WCW.
