10 WWE Matches That Were Too Epic To Fail (Yet Somehow Still Did)

8. Chris Jericho Vs Edge (WrestleMania XXVI)

The mix of ingredients involved in this wrestling recipe should have guaranteed a WrestleMania main event for the ages.

Chris Jericho was in the midst of arguably his greatest ever run as the despised, cold, suit wearing d*ck iteration of his character and Edge had just returned from a career threatening Achilles tendon injury, winning the 2010 Royal Rumble in his first appearance for over six months.

Jericho had also been mocking his former tag partner on television whilst he was away from the ring and as soon as the 'Rated 'R' Superstar' made his triumphant Rumble winning return it was obvious that he'd want to get his own back on 'Y2J' at 'Mania XXVI.

Yet, even though everything about this programme pointed to another instant classic for the two veteran superstars, when it came down to it their 'Mania collision was just missing something.

It was technically well put together and the story was understandable enough, yet Edge didn't really click with the crowd as a beloved babyface and the pair couldn't quite deliver the drama soaked epic many had hoped for when this grudge match was finally booked into existence.

This wasn't the only highly anticipated super showdown to fall flat on this night, though...
