10 WWE Matches That Were Too Epic To Fail (Yet Somehow Still Did)
3. Daniel Bryan Vs The Miz (Super Showdown, 2018)
When The Miz exploded at Daniel Bryan on an episode of Talking Smack in 2016 any fan would have paid a months rent to see Bryan drag his rival into the middle of a ring and settle their differences there and then.
Yet, Bryan was retired and any hope of him performing in a WWE ring again seemed to be dead and buried.
Or so we thought.
Bryan shocked the world and announced that he'd been medically cleared for action in 2018. This was all well and good, but what was even better was the realisation that Bryan would finally be able to put Miz in his place once and for all.
The pair eventually began feuding in the lead up to SummerSlam. Their eventual match at the 'Biggest Party of the Summer' was good enough, but we knew that there was still more left in both star's tanks.
A decent mixed tag at Hell in a Cell involving the pair's better halves followed, but we would finally get another one-on-one encounter between the pair at Super Showdown in Australia - of all places - with the winner earning a WWE title opportunity.
The match ended in two-and-a-half minutes and that was that.
No epic conclusion.
No furthering of a story which had been captivating fans of SmackDown Live for over two years.
Miz wasn't the only one who felt cheated on the night, as Bryan's small package finished off a match (and feud) which could have been so much more than what we got.
