The build-up to this match was solid, and when two performers like Jericho and Ambrose step in the ring, fans should expect good things to happen. Ergo, there was plenty of interest in seeing these two go at it in an Asylum match.

Of course, part of the intrigue was simply finding out what an 'Asylum match' would actually look like. However, in the end, it was the stipulation that ended up being the problem.

Instead of focusing on telling a good story in the ring, the contest centered around both men trying to scale the cage to retrieve several objects to use on their opponents. These items included things like a mop, bucket, and a potted plant.

It was as if the match was trying to be both intense and comical, which (as we saw) are two things that don't mix particularly well in a professional wrestling context.
