10 WWE Mid-Carders Who Never Get The Credit They Deserve
9. Mark Henry
It may seem strange to put a former World Heavyweight Champion on this list to some, but the bulk of Mark Henry's WWE run has been just below main event level.
Henry was up against it when he signed a colossal ten year contract with the then-WWF in the summer of 1996. An Olympian, the big Texan had shattered various American weightlifting records and competed at the Summer Games in Atlanta right before putting pen to paper on a wrestling deal.
That's when the real work started, because Henry had to learn how to work a basic match and was pushed into the ring before he was really ready.
Such pressure would have eaten others alive and led to their release from the company, but Mark Henry is still a WWE employee in 2017, and that speaks to his adaptability, willingness to do whatever he was told, and determination to improve as a performer.
Not just any wrestler would have agreed to cringeworthy romance angles with Mae Young or performed as 'Sexual Chocolate' with a smile on their face. The fact Henry was able to come through all of that and work wonders with his 'Hall Of Pain' gimmick a decade later is amazing.
