10 WWE Midcard Matches That Stole Major PPVs

4. Edge & Christian Vs. The Hardy Boyz Vs. The Dudley Boyz - WrestleMania 2000

The Hardys and Edge & Christian had already stolen the show a year earlier in a ladder match at No Mercy 1999, but it was this performance (alongside the Dudleys) that truly proved their legitimacy as show stealers. And this was a Pay-Per-View that pulled out all the stops, with Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle putting on a wrestling clinic for the Intercontinental and European Championship. It also had a 4-way match for the WWE Championship with The Rock, Triple H, Mick Foley, and Big Show that looked great on paper, but panned out pretty poorly. Although the aforementioned No Mercy was a little tighter and better crafted, this triple ladder match featured a whole parade of high-risk spots (highlighted by Jeff Hardy's ridiculous Swanton Bomb from the top of a 20-foot ladder) and had a more memorable finish. Bodies were sacrificed and boundaries pushed to lengths that WWE fans had never before witnessed, turning the 3-way tag battle into one of the most legendary the company ever had.
