10 WWE Midcarders Who Would Be Main Eventers In AEW

8. Kevin Owens

Speaking of Kevin Owens, he too appears destined to never quite crack the glass ceiling, with the brass ring always a whisker away. Yes, he did have a stint as Universal Champion - a blessing only ever awarded to him thanks to Finn Bálor getting put on the shelf. His reign then ended unceremoniously via a squash defeat by Bill Goldberg.

Owens has flirted with the main event scene since, but is yet to recapture the top prize; midcard belts being more his forte. Unfortunately, the former Kevin Steen has been unable to regain the spark he had when he first burst onto the main roster to defeat John Cena. To think, the Canadian star was so hot back then, fans were considering him as a worthy opponent for Brock Lesnar. How the mighty fell.

The sentiment soon changed when he booked to lose back to back rematches to 'Super Cena'. A dream match with Lesnar never ended up happening and was no longer warranted.

All these past woes would be a thing of the distant past were K.O. to ever grace AEW with his presence. Whether it would be to rekindle rivalries of old with the likes of 'Y2J' or 'The Lunatic Fringe', or to pick a fight with some fresh competition, Owens would be well and truly living up his 'Prize Fighter' moniker.
