10 WWE Midcarders Who Would Be Main Eventers In AEW
7. Finn Bálor
The aforementioned Finn Bálor was also a universal title holder, being forced to relinquish the strap 24 hours after capturing it due to injury. He's yet to win it back.
As of writing, Finn holds the intercontinental title - long looked at as the midcard championship. It's a prestigious award no doubt, but still not representative of the heights the Irishman reached early during his main roster tenure.
Whether 'The Demon' can ever taste world championship gold again remains to be seen. There's a stacked roster to compete with after all, and he's already been waiting an awfully long time for his turn back on the mountain top. The hope fans had for him back when he was the longest ever reigning NXT champion appears to be fading.
That wouldn't be the case if Finn was to become the latest signing of AEW. Bálor would feel right at home with other former Bullet Club members surrounding him - he is the founder of the faction and all. That fact alone would give him the respect of the AEW higher ups. His talent and ability would take him the rest of the way - straight to the top of the food chain.
Who knows, AEW may even let him explore the many personas he showed off on the independent scene, before he was confined to just having 'The Demon' in his closet.
