Yes, I know, technically this did happen but... it didn’t did it? Not the way any of us actually wanted.

In short, every single wrestling fan in the '90s fantasy booked a war between the WWF and WCW. The clashes were epic, the match-ups were mouth-watering, huge stars facing off in never-before-seen contests and, simply put, that is not what we got. I'm not as down on the whole Invasion angle as a lot of people - it was Actually Pretty OK - but it was nowhere near as good as it could have been.

Owing to the absurd contractual situations of WCW’s top stars, your Goldbergs, your Stings, your Hogans, Halls and Nashes were nowhere to be seen during the angle. Instead we got the likes of Chris Kanyon, Hugh Morris and Kronik and I cannot believe I’ve had to say that twice in one list.

The big lads did all eventually make their way over in time, but by then the WCW was long dead and an invasion angle a bitter disappointing memory. Yes we finally got the 2 Become 1 story we’d been waiting for, but not the proper inter-promotional war we’d long craved.
