When Vince McMahon used his own DVD profile to confirm a rumour that he'd pitched several variations of an incest storyline utilising his nearest and dearest, it blew apart the traditional method of story-sharing between fans of his bizarre product.

The Internet Wrestling Community is built upon discussion of every unique aspect of the peculiar past-time, but speculative debate on the rumour, gossip and hearsay reported by those with links and leaks within the WWE system usually takes precedence.

A longstanding point of contention centred around McMahon's apparent interest in working the birth of daughter Stephanie's first child into storylines. To the 'Billion Dollar Princess' bewilderment, he pitched an idea where he'd be the father. When this was sensibly blocked he kept swinging, instead proffering Shane as having done the dirtiest of deeds. It was again, disgustedly rebuked.

That this anecdote wasn't snuck out via an inside source but delivered from Stephanie's own talking head remains possibly the most shocking thing of all. “I don't know who would find entertainment in a storyline like that,” she said, sounding more discerning and logical than her character ever had done on screen. Clearly she'd overlooked WWE's most dedicated supporter, its audience of one - her own father.
