5. Blissful Ignorance

Alexa Bliss lauded herself as untouchable on post-PPV gabfest Raw Talk, regaling Renee Young and Jerry Lawler with stories of her divisional dominance on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live! in the past year.

Her words were particularly cutting to the remainder of the division that hadn't attempted to topple her in the evening's earlier bout. Brushing off Bayley, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks and Emma completey, Bliss caustically noted 'Who am I going to face next? Alicia Fox? Dana Brooke?', suggesting (correctly) that the pair weren't in her league. Even cries of Mickie James from the hosts were brushed off with claims that she was too over-the-hill when first brought in by the diminutive titleholder earlier this year.

Her arrogance was by careful design. It had been rather informally revealed on the Kickoff show that Asuka would debut at Raw's next pay-per-view event in October, which could also explain why going-nowhere heel Emma was saved from taking the pinfall in the Women's Title match. The Aussie star had been a perfect foil for the 'Empress Of Tomorrow' in her early NXT days, with the pair's TakeOver: London matches one of the best encounters in the event's history.

It was abundantly clear - there is much worse to come for Alexa Bliss, but the more she avoids it, the greater the anticipation.
