10 WWE NXT Main Roster Call Ups That Must Happen In 2017

5. Tye Dillinger

No current NXT wrestler deserves a main roster call-up more than Tye Dillinger. The Perfect 10 has been in and out of WWE developmental for 10 years now, with his most recent stint starting in 2013. It wasn’t until this year that he started catching fire, however, and in the space of 12 months, Dillinger has gone from listless enhancement talent to one of NXT’s most popular stars.

He has taken a potentially horrendous gimmick and turned it into gold. The “10” schtick is so over that fans can regularly be heard chanting it during referee’s counts on main roster pay-per-views, and Tye always gets a huge pop whenever he appears. Dillinger is incredibly over at the moment, and if there’s no NXT Title program in his future, it’s time to think about moving him up to Raw or SmackDown.

The Royal Rumble presents the perfect opportunity to do so. Debuting Tye at number 10 makes too much sense, and if the company don’t do it, they’ll be missing out on a potential Rumble highlight. Those fans in-tune with NXT’s goings on would be sent into raptures, and the gimmick’s inherent catchiness would soon win everyone else over. SmackDown are screaming out for credible midcarders at the moment, and Dillinger would be just that.
