10 WWE NXT Main Roster Call-Ups That Must Happen In 2018

2. Ember Moon

It'll probably be a while before we see Ember Moon on the main roster. Having just won the NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: WarGames, she'll likely be grated a lengthy run on top, particularly as there are few obvious successors at the moment. Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler will reportedly keep each other occupied for 2018's first few months. Nikki Cross is great, but held back by the brand's worst gimmick. The rest? None are even close to ready.

Hence, Moon will likely hold the division together deep into the year, though an Asuka-esque reign seems unlikely. This will serve her well. She's great in the ring, but her character work is lacking, and staying in developmental will allow her to hone her personality.

This can't go on forever, though. Keeping Moon anchored in NXT beyond late 2018 would be counterproductive, and only curb her long-term prospects. She's already one of the best female workers in the company, and with both main roster brands lacking in genuinely world-class in-ring talents (outside the obvious names), Moon would be a smart addition to either show, and an immediate highlight.
