10 WWE NXT Main Roster Call-Ups That NEED To Happen In 2026
2. Josh Briggs
This is going to sound harsh and contradictory to this entire list at first, but it's meant with love and purpose: Josh Briggs is going nowhere in NXT fast, and it's starting to come across as though he may never reach anything close to his potential.
He's been signed to WWE since August 2020 and made his NXT debut in July 2021, making some progress to the point of winning the NXT UK Tag Team Championships the summer after that.
Once he lost that title, everything went downhill, and WWE seems lost for what to do with him.
He's been a babyface and a heel, in singles competition and in teams with others like Yoshiki Inamura, but nothing is clicking. If Shawn Michaels and the NXT writing team's best idea is to put a skull on his shoulder for his entrance, that isn't a good sign of things to come.
Briggs is a "sink or swim" candidate on this list. Sometimes, under a different banner, wrestlers find a new spark, or they prove that they just don't fit this WWE mold right now.
Ideally, he turns out more like a Carmella or Liv Morgan, who got considerably better on Raw and SmackDown while being in similar go-nowhere situations on NXT.
