10 WWE NXT Main Roster Call-Ups That NEED To Happen In 2026
1. Tony D'Angelo
Tony D'Angelo has two options for 2026: finally win the NXT Championship to complete the circuit for that brand and progress to the next level, or get stuck in enhancement talent limbo.
Having already won the NXT North American Championship, the Heritage Cup, and the tag team titles, doing any of that again keeps him stagnant. Even worse, failing at those goals sets him back to where he was a few years ago—the total opposite of the progression NXT should be about.
Now is the experimentation time. If the crowd likes the stripped-down, blander version of D'Angelo who is no longer "The Don of NXT", he should get a title reign and start working toward being called up by the end of the year, or mid-2027 at the latest.
If that doesn't take, though, he should revert back to his previous gimmick, and since that's already run its course on NXT, bring that to the main roster.
There isn't anyone similar to that on Raw or SmackDown. Never underestimate how many new and interesting storylines can come out of injecting a different style character in a new environment.
