10 WWE NXT Wrestlers Who Didn't Succeed Until Turning Heel

3. Sasha Banks

Much to the delight of the WWE Universe, Sasha Banks recently returned to Raw as a heel after spending the last three years miscast as a babyface. It was a similar story when she started out in NXT, though she was never as popular originally as she is now.

Long before she started calling herself The Boss, Banks was just another woman trying to make a name for herself in NXT. She lost far more often than she won, and in late 2013, Summer Rae brought it to her attention that her optimistic attitude wasn't getting her anywhere.

Following a loss to Paige, she turned on the NXT Women's champion and established herself as a threat to the title. In the year that followed, she used her alliances with Rae, Charlotte and Becky Lynch to get under the skin of the audience and hit her stride as a heel.

By early 2015, Banks was the complete package and finally captured the NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: Rival. Despite being called up to the main roster during her title reign, she went on to produce instant classics with Bayley at the next two TakeOver specials.

Banks was overshadowed during her time in Team B.A.D. and thus never got to showcase her skills as a heel before turning face soon after, but as of last week, The Boss is back at long last.
