You won't hear WWE's announcers talking about Zelina Vega winning the first ever Queen's Crown tournament on TV today. Nia Jax won Queen Of The Ring after the fact, and that's clearly more important to the company than this half-baked predecessor. It meant nothing almost as soon as it had finished.

Plus, fans in Saudi Arabia just didn't care about the final between Vega and Doudrop.

Oh yes, these were the Doudrop days. Piper Niven tried her best, but it was mission impossible to get the live crowd invested in her five minute scrap with Zelina. Afterwards, Vega turned into 'Queen Zelina' and put on a dodgy British accent. WWE lost interest in that almost as quickly as they'd lost interest in the entire tourney.

Names like Toni Storm, Liv Morgan and Shayna Baszler were in the brackets, so Vega vs. Doudrop was an odd choice for the final push anyway. Both gave it a shot, but this ultimately meant nothing and was nowhere near the historic moment WWE wanted it to be.
