Nostalgia is the single most powerful sensation one can feel when revisiting old footage on the WWE Network.

It can cloud things too - spend an evening trawling back down memory lane and you'll surely get that fuzzy, warm and content feeling, but one fan's old faves will be another's trash. Someone out there will view cards you've got so much affection for like gigantic snorefests that are only good for a match or two before moving on.

How dare they, right? Don't they know that every single bout on these shows should be treasured as a classic example of wrestling done right? When the nostalgia goggles are off, you'll see that isn't true. In fact, there are some cherished pay-per-view events from WWE history that don't hold up well at all when viewed from start to finish in 2020.

That's not to say these shows don't have merit, memorable matches or magic moments. They do, although that magic maybe isn't as abundant throughout the entirety of the broadcast as you remember, and that can come as a real shock to those who'd staunchly defend them...
