10 WWE PPVs That Aren’t As Good As You Remember

1. WrestleMania X8

What You Remember: 'Icon vs. Icon' - The Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan for ultimate bragging rights. Elsewhere, Triple H would finally fend off Chris Jericho (alongside Stephanie McMahon) and become Undisputed WWF Champion after returning from injury.

As if that wasn't enough, Steve Austin wrestled Scott Hall, Ric Flair battled The Undertaker, Kurt Angle fought Kane, Edge faced Booker T and more.

Reality: Hulk vs. Rock is the only match worth watching more than once here, although there's maybe a shout for 'Taker vs. Flair too if you haven't seen it in years.

WrestleMania X8 is given unfair prestige by some in the pro wrestling community because of the red hot atmosphere inside Toronto's SkyDome and due to that 'Icon vs. Icon' billing. Outside of that stunning showdown, the card had little to shout about.

A frustrated Austin didn't want to work with Hall, Edge and Booker T warred over a fictional shampoo commercial and the headliner between Triple H and Jericho shouldn't have been in that spot ahead of Hulk and Rocky.

A total letdown, in retrospect.
