10 WWE Predictions We Got Completely Wrong In 2018

2. "This'll Be Bayley And Sasha's Year"

You really have to wonder just what Sasha Banks and Bayley have - or perhaps haven't - done backstage to warrant their lowly position.

2018 began with inexplicably optimistic fans once more vowing that this year, at last, would be the one where the erstwhile NXT rivals would finally come good on the main roster. Sasha Banks would be restored to her brief 2016 prestige that had seen her (legitimately) make history in headlining Hell in a Cell, whilst Bayley would be rescued from the purgatory of her bedding-in period.

Though WWE missed the first chance at the Royal Rumble, Asuka's victory forgave them. But come WrestleMania, the (sigh) 'frenemies' were pillow stuffing in the Not-Moolah battle royal, with their interminable beef once more reignited. For the next two months, the two were involved in perhaps the year's worst angle, hitting its nadir with the illogical and unhelpful 'anger management' skit. The only beneficiary from the whole sorry affair was Dr. Marian Shelby.

Since then, Bayley and Sasha have randomly put their differences aside again, and we're back at square one. Maybe it's time for ever-hopeful fans to take note from Andre the Giant's chauffeur Samuel Beckett: Godot will never come.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
