10 WWE Predictions We Got Completely Wrong In 2018
1. "Brock Lesnar Will Leave WWE"
Brock Lesnar breaking back into the cage wasn't so much a 2018 prediction as it was a nailed-on certainty. It was widely expected The Beast's abstinent Universal title reign would come to a long overdue end at WrestleMania 34, a fact which saw those in attendance sabotage his contest opposite Roman Reigns with a cacophony of absolute indifference.
Then he won. Brock was going nowhere.
At least, for now. There was fresh speculation that Lesnar had signed a short-term deal, and was only hanging around per the request (and chequebook) of the Saudi General Sports Authority. He'd lose to Roman Reigns in the desert, for sure - and the fans might even cheer it this time.
Then he won again. Brock was still here.
At this point, heads felt the scratch of confused forefingers. Maybe Brock was just playing us all like a fiddle? It wouldn't be the first time.
When Brock finally did relinquish his red strap to Reigns at SummerSlam, four years behind schedule, it finally seemed his inevitable exit was upon us. One more show in Saudi Arabia, and then it was time for Beasty bye-bye.
Even the intervention of cruel fate, stripping Roman Reigns of his long-sought title through illness, didn't matter. It'd simply be Braun Strowman's time.
Nope. Brock won a third time. He'll see 2018 out as the Universal Champion. Who knows where he'll be this time next year - but you can't rule out it being the exact same place.
