10 WWE Premonitions That Came True

1. Triple H Telegraphs Sagging Ratings

Triple H Mocks Fans
WWE

Oh boy.

It's never good when wrestling companies rubbish fan criticism as senseless, thick whinging that should cease lest those viewers embarrass themselves further. That kind of mockery only takes the p*ss out of people for caring in the first place, and it's likely to turn those folks off.

In July 2014, Triple H appeared on Raw and roasted a section of the fanbase for disliking recent events. After riffing on those who use social media to vent their spleens, 'The Game' closed with the immortal line, "Me and my friend Mark, we're gonna' stop watching'. That, in retrospect, was regrettable.

WWE Raw averaged approx four million viewers in July 2014. Over the next five years, that number would fall to around 1.5 million. Now, nobody is suggesting that Trips' words literally led to millions turning off and never tuning back in again, but he did accurately predict sagging interest.

His promo loudly (and arrogantly) said that it didn't matter what unhappy customers thought.
