10 WWE Punishments That Didn't Fit The Crime

8. It's Title Match, Not Title Shot

Braun Strowman reportedly found himself on the wrong side of Vince McMahon last year, when he went to the ring to demand a "title shot", apparently ignoring instructions to refer to it as a "title match".

It's not entirely clear why WWE insist on the latter. There's no real distinction between the two, other than the fact that match makes it clear they're not going to decide the next champion in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

But who are we to question their logic? The point is that Strowman returned backstage and then got a right old ear-bashing from the chairman of the board in front of the rest of the locker room.

As punishments go, you may not think that sounds particularly severe, but once again, what was The Monster Among Men actually guilty of here? He essentially just said the wrong word, and it wasn't like that word was a racial epithet or anything. We're talking about "shot" here.
