From @MitchNickelson: How would you book Ryback when he comes back from injury?
We reported on Ryback's injury that required surgery earlier in the week. According to Ryback, he had surgery to repair strained groin injuries as well as two sports hernias. He mentioned that hes been dealing with these injuries for the past seven months. This could be the perfect time to bring him back as a singles wrestler that is a force like he was in 2012 as a babyface that was built up so strongly that people bought into him winning the WWE Title. It didn't happen thanks to a corrupt ref named Brad Maddox and then a month after that it was the debut of The Shield that cost Ryback the gold. He actually went on a massive losing streak for several months. Then WWE turned him heel to face John Cena post WrestleMania in 2013 and he was never able to get to that level he was at before. If he returns as part of a tag team with Curtis Axel it's fine, but that's not the kind of gimmick that is really going to get him noticed. Ryback needs to come back strong as a face just to see if he can get over like he was before. Maybe match him up with somebody like Rusev as a way to get fans to cheer Ryback again. It wouldn't be a bad idea to try at least. If it doesn't work, he can go back to being a heel pretty easily.
