From @_NL92_: Do you think NXT should be used as an alternative to Monday Night Raw, like how WCW was? It could really develop talent and fanbase.
It's already an alternative. If you want to watch a shorter wrestling show it's one hour compared to three. It's filmed in a small building with 500 fans watching instead of 10,000 seat arenas. They present the show in a different way than Raw. People like it because it's not too long and you get a peak at the stars of tomorrow in a setting that will allow them to grow. They have really done a great job with NXT in the last year or two. WCW really wasn't that much of an alternative. They had a lot of former WWE guys on it. They did bring in cruiserweights to make things different, but it's not like they went against the traditional wrestling show format. Raw will always be WWE's most important show and its biggest show. Smackdown is number two. WWE is getting paid millions of dollars to broadcast those shows on cable TV. They're always going to be the most important WWE shows. NXT is the hip show that smart fans like and hopefully others can catch on too. What NXT can be for WWE is the second best reason to get WWE Network other than the 12 live WWE PPVs that we get every year. If you're not watching, you should. It's as simple as that.
