From @PartesanJournal: Is the WWE making mistakes by booking established wrestlers like Samoa Joe & Jushin Liger to NXT?
It's absolutely not a mistake. Since the NXT show is in Brooklyn they need some bigger names for the smart fans to know about it because they're not going to put John Cena or Roman Reigns on that kind of show. Adding a wrestling legend like Jushin Thunder Liger to a NXT event is pretty cool because he's well known all over the world. Fans going to Brooklyn will be more interested in the show, but also the fans watching in Japan suddenly have somebody to get behind when he faces Tyler Breeze. Look at the main roster right now. There's so much on there that even really talented performers like Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Rusev and others aren't even on the Battleground card at least in terms of advertised matches. There's no room for Samoa Joe right now, so it's better to keep him on NXT for now until they can find something for him on the main roster. Thinks of NXT like a third brand that is there to grow on its own, but also grow because it's part of the WWE family.
