From @jmb8311: Do you think there is something brewing between ESPN and WWE? A lot of cross promotion and coverage taking place lately.
There's nothing except two companies wanting to help eachother reach fans of their products. That's why WWE is on ESPN a bit more this year because the people that ESPN probably realize it's smart to have a good relationship with WWE. Since WWE has this big fanbase that aren't necessarily sports fans, that's another outlet of people that ESPN can reach. Then for WWE, they can do things like putting Brock Lesnar on ESPN to announce that he's signing a new long term deal and then it's beneficial for both of them. Another factor is that ESPN has former WWE guys like Jonathon Coachman and Todd Grisham there. Perhaps they have some influence on their bosses or may have told them to talk about WWE a bit more. It's really all about the numbers and trying to grow their brands. If ESPN sees that more people are watching their shows or reading their websites when WWE is mentioned then they will feature more of it. As for WWE, they are always wanting more attention.
